Surgical Department Upgrade at Khmilnyk Hospital with the Support of Pan Fund
Support for healthcare, communities, and the military remains one of the priorities of the charitable foundation PAN FUND.
In the city of Khmilnyk, we implemented a comprehensive project to modernize the hospital’s surgical department. The implementation period lasted 6 months, and the total project budget amounted to UAH 20.5 million. As a result, the department was fully renovated, equipped with modern medical equipment, and put into full operation.
Within the framework of the project, repairs were carried out in all patient wards, the operating block, and auxiliary premises. Two fully functional turnkey operating rooms were equipped, and the department’s hall was renovated, including the creation of a comfortable waiting area for visitors.
Modern engineering systems were installed, including:
• a centralized oxygen supply system
• a compressed medical gases supply system
• a vacuum system
• a new ventilation system
• an air conditioning system to maintain an appropriate microclimate
• an internal fire protection system
Separate service premises were also arranged for medical staff, including a doctors’ room, a changing room, a medication storage room, and technical facilities. Specialized renovation of the X-ray room was carried out in accordance with radiation safety requirements.
The wards were equipped with functional medical beds for each patient, individual medical monitors, and oxygen connection points installed at every bed.
Additionally, a ward for six patients and a separate “Chamber of Heroes” for military personnel were arranged, with a dedicated bathroom for two patients.
The operating rooms were equipped with electric surgical tables and equipment for performing complex surgical procedures, including the installation of a suspended medical console designed for use during complex operations.
To support the work of medical staff, computers, workstations, furniture, and necessary office equipment were purchased.
All works were carried out in accordance with medical construction standards, fire safety requirements, sanitary regulations, and accessibility standards, with the involvement of specialized professionals.
The project was fully financed by the charitable foundation PAN FUND, which ensured the organization of construction works, procurement of equipment, coordination with suppliers, and technical supervision.
As of today, the renovated department has been operating for more than one year and provides medical care in accordance with modern standards.
